Starting with 22 brilliant home cooks in America, only three are left to battle it out and impress the judges in the upcoming season finale of "MasterChef" season 6.
It is now down to two episodes before Fox's hit reality show determines the contestant who will walk away with a MasterChef trophy, a book deal, and the $250,000 grand prize. But before the final result, Claudia Sandoval, Derrick Peltz, and Stephen Lee will have to go through several grueling challenges to prove which one of them deserves to take home the prize.
According to NextAiring.com, the top three finalists will first go in a head-to-head battle to impress no less than 30 important people of the culinary world. In the episode titled "Team Gordon Ramsay," each home cook will have to prepare dishes to restaurant guests who will also serve as their adjudicators.
The contestant who will receive the most number of votes will then move on to the finals, while the remaining two will face the dreaded pressure test. In the challenge, they will reportedly create three classic MasterChef dishes. The one who will impress resident judges Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot, and Christina Tosi the most will then move on to the biggest test of all.
In the finale, the top two home cooks will prepare a three-course meal under the eagle eyes of their chef evaluators. They have one last chance to prove that they are deserving of the ultimate cash prize and the most coveted title of being America's next MasterChef. Who will come out on top among Sandoval, Peltz, and Lee?
Last episode, Nick Nappi was eliminated after falling short of the judges' expectation. He and Sandoval faced off in recreating Tosi's chocolate malted layer cake. While Nappi's cake looked phenomenal, the taste was a little off as he ran out of ingredients to use. In the end, he lost his chance of staying in the competition.
"MasterChef" season 6 finale will air on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
