Apparently, Bioware is making "Mass Effect 4" a game that is "massive in terms of size/scale." NeoGAF member and industry insider Shinobi602 hinted on the release of the hugely-hyped "Mass Effect" title, saying that it will arrive by the second quarter of 2016 although it is "still not set even internally." Fans may just have to wait for the game studio to make it "the best game it can be" as the source promised that the fortitude will pay off.
Shinobi602, after talking "to certain people," assured that "Mass Effect 4" is "100% coming next year" as folks at Bioware are already working on the title. Back in April last year, studio director Yanick Roy tweeted that they are halfway through the production. According to PC Advisor, designers have begun working on "Mass Effect 4" in late 2012. That is around 18 months before Roy's tweet, the site stated after doing the math. PC Advisor then concluded that with eighteen more months of work, which leads to October 2015, "Mass Effect 4" should be a concrete but still an unreleased video game. That supports Shinobi602's claims then.
Meanwhile, it also looks like the title of the installment has also been settled and it is not "Mass Effect 4" apparently. Bioware has another name for the future game and it looks like it is yet to be divulged. "Mass Effect 4," as fans and media outlets could address the game for now, is also said to outsize "Dragon Age: Inquisition," which everybody knows is already big at almost everything. This required Bioware to boost its manpower to 200 developers, according to the renowned leakster.
"There were about 50 or so devs on the game around when DAI shipped, that's since quadrupled in number. That new build [Michael] Gamble was talking about was a big milestone related to that. Doubling down on one single engine (Frostbite) across all the studios is a huge advantage," Shinobi602 stated as quoted by Gamepur.
The upcoming title is said to feature unfamiliar characters and unexplored regions of the galaxy. The title will also mark the return of the Mako, making the six-wheeled automobile from the original "Mass Effect" title more usable in traversing unknown areas in space.
