Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4 news: Iron Man, Captain America 2? New blood to replace older stars?

 Marvel

Now that Marvel Studios is working on the final two movies for its epic series The Avengers under the direction of the Russo Brothers, fans are curious to know what else the studio has in store as it moves forward for the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"We're only working on what's been announced through the end of 2019. And it is still a big chess board for 2020 and beyond, but certainly I would say Guardians 3 is (one film that's) up there. I don't know what exactly the order will be," Marvel Studios director Kevin Feige said in April.

With this confirmation, fans are already speculating what more movies will be developed.

According to a report by Comic Book Movie, there are 10 possible titles that the studio can explore if they will listen to the fans' clamor.

The rumored fourth and fifth installment to the Iron Man franchise is one of those movies although it is still unclear whether Robert Downey Jr. will continue wearing the iron suit or if it will be passed on to a younger actor, similar to what will happen to Spider-man.

The fact that Netflix has already developed successful series for Defenders heroes also hint at a possibility that the heroes will soon have their big screen debut since the thrust of the studio for film and television has proven to be consistent.

Among these heroes are Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. It was also speculated that Marvel will once again try to revive the Incredible Hulk standalone franchise after already two solo movies starring Eric Bana and Edward Norton.

A Spider-man film and a fourth Captain America movie are expected to round up the line up.

What Culture has speculated that there will be a lot of replacements to the original cast moving forward as Marvel prepares to pass on the mantle to younger actors. It also hinted at a possibility that the Black Widow could get her own movie after she has played a supporting character or part of an ensemble in previous outings. There has been no confirmation of this rumor as yet from Marvel despite persistent fan theories.

Phase 4 will likely mean that Marvel will have to find itself another villain after the Avengers movies finally conclude his chapter in Infinity Wars.

Another set of heroes, the Inhumans, which are now part of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may finally get their moment to shine in the fourth phase after their movie was pushed back due to a jampacked blockbuster year for 2019.

With the last Fantastic 4 reboot not doing so well with critics, it could mean that Marvel could revive the franchise or simply incorporate the FF to existing franchises like the Avengers.

While these rumors, remain unconfirmed by Marvel moving forward, these ideas are actually viable possibilities and remain highly anticipated among the loyal fans of the brand.
