"Married at First Sight" will return for a third season, with the hit reality television series heading to Georgia to carry out its "social experiment."

If the first two installments featured couples from the New York area, PEOPLE reports that all of the pairs to be chosen for the new season will be from Atlanta. Viewers will still see the four specialists accountable for putting them together via "scientific matchmaking." Dr. Joseph Cilona (psychologist), Dr. Logan Levkoff (sexologist), Dr. Pepper Schwartz (sociologist), and Greg Epstein (spiritual advisor) will still lend their expertise in pairing up the six singles who will agree to marry after meeting for the first time.

The series drew negative comments from viewers, as it became apparent that the couples of the previous seasons ended up divorcing. Some have started to question whether the show's concept was still feasible, as it seemed to be failing its purpose on TV. Critics also pointed out that there was something wrong with the entire matching process. As per its format, couples do not formally meet until they walk down the aisle. After living with each other for four weeks, they will then get to decide whether to stay married or separate.

All three couples from season 2 ended up divorcing. One pair, Jessica Castro and Ryan De Nino, even made the headlines after the former filed for an order of protection against De Nino. Jessica said he had been cheating on her and could turn violent if peeved. As for the two pairs who managed to stay together in the premiere installment, they are currently starring on "Married at First Sight: The First Year" season 2, which began airing last Oct. 13.

Meanwhile, A&E reports that season 3 will be slightly longer than the previous installments, as the usual one hour segment will be extended by 15 minutes.

The two-hour premiere of "Married at First Sight" season 3 will air on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at 9 p.m. EST on FYI.
