Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley Jr. may be all set for April but the upcoming tiff will, of course, not be complete without the undercards.
And right now, the word out is that Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is putting together an interesting list which could eventually turn out to be an all-Hispanic undercard show.
Leading the cast of possible undercards is an interesting one which could see World Boxing Organization (WBO) super middleweight champion Arthur Abraham going up against an undefeated Gilberto Ramirez.
Arum, who incidentally promotes Ramirez, is looking to make the fight possible. If so, it is seen as something that would benefit Ramirez whom Arum believes is capable of defeating the 35-year-old Abraham.
Ramirez fought in January 2015 against Maxim Vaslov, although that bout was something many didn't see as impressive. He did, however, do better against Gevorg Khatchikian and Derek Edwards so a fight with Abraham could be a good way to gauge if he is truly ready to be with the big boys of boxing in his division.
Arum believes that Ramirez has the tools to become the next Canelo Alvarez, mainly because he has the size and power. It remains to be seen, however, if he can be at the same level as the World Boxing Council (WBC) middleweight lineal champion, although all that could be up for a good start if a fight with Abraham materializes.
Aside from the planned Abraham vs. Ramirez tiff, BoxingScene.com mentions Jose Ramirez and Oscar Valdez as other possible boxers who may see action.
Boxing 247 bares that Ike Ibeabuchi would have been a possible addition as well against Andy Ruiz but all plans of that may be hindered by the fact that Ibeabuchi could have trouble securing a license from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
With most boxing fans are not at ease with the Pacquiao vs. Bradley III setto, it seems Arum is banking on the undercard matches to somehow snuff out that sour backlash.
