Manny Pacquiao says 'God's ways are higher' after losing to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in fight of the century

Despite his heartbreaking loss on Saturday night to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the Fight of the Century, Christian boxer Manny Pacquiao thanked God and his fans for all their support and simply said that "God's ways are higher."

"To all the fans, thank you for all your support. Thank you for always being there for me no matter what the outcome. I thank God for always guiding us through our lives. His plans is higher than our plans and His ways are higher than our ways. God Bless you all," he wrote in his Facebook page.

The people's champ shared the Bible verse Romans 8:28 that says: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

After losing the much-hyped boxing match, Pacquiao revealed that he was suffering from a shoulder injury, and said that he felt like needles were being stuck in his shoulder come the fourth round of the match.

He has received proper medical attention since then, reports the L.A. Times, and his doctor Neal ElAttrache "could not be more pleased" with how his shoulder surgery turned out.

However, in order to successfully heal from the surgery, Pacquiao will be forced to give up boxing for an estimated four to six months.

Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum thought it "interesting" that Mayweather apparently texted a reporter saying that he is interested to wait for Pacquiao to heal and have a rematch with him again next year, but everybody from his camp is more focused right now on seeing their champ's health improve.

"Right now, all I'm focused on is Manny's health and how the shoulder reacts to surgery," said Arum. "The surgeon is one of the best in the world and it's a pretty common procedure."
