Manny Pacquiao is keeping his eyes fixed on God as fight with Floyd Mayweather draws near

Champion boxer Manny Pacquiao continues to share Bible verses and uplifiting words to his millions of followers ahead of his highly-anticipated fight against Floyd Mayweather.

The fighters will meet in the ring on May 2 in Las Vegas, and Pacquiao is preparing for the match through physical and spiritual conditioning.

"Morning road work. Thank you Lord for the beautiful day you give to us. #MayPac," he tweeted in a post that as characteristic of the boxer. He included a photo of himself and a group of people running up a hill.

Other photos and videos show Pacquiao training inside gyms, running up mountains, doing abdominal workouts, and sparring. He said that he trains harder every day, and consistently thanks the Lord for giving him strength.

"Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus," he wrote earlier this month.

"With God, hard work, and focus I can accomplish what is ahead of me," he told his fans days later.

Pacquiao has expressed "100 per cent confidence" that he will be victorious next month, and said that God will "deliver" Mayweather into his hands. The athlete is an outspoken Christian who plans to open a church called "Word for Everyone" in the Philippines.

"I want to leave behind a legacy of faith and a House of God," he explained. "This is more self-fulfilling than my achievements in boxing and politics."

His social media timelines are dotted with celebrity cameos and product endorsements, but are mostly reflective of his purpose in life: to glorify God.

"The Lord raised me from nothing into something for a purpose and that purpose is to bring glory to His name," said Pacquiao.
