'Madam Secretary' season 2 spoilers: President Dalton, Liz prepare for possible Russian coup in episode 5

President Ostrov's (Olek Krupa) death will signal the start of a big upheaval in Russia in the upcoming episode of "Madam Secretary."

In "The Long Shot," Cartermatt reports that Elizabeth (Téa Leoni) and President Dalton (Keith Carradine) will fear for what will happen in Russia after its leader's demise. They have reason to believe that people within the government are planning a coup d'état. Power grabbing at this point will cause unrest in the already volatile nation. The United States must do everything it can to ensure that Russia will not crumble in the face of greed.

Meanwhile, Jay (Sebastian Arcelus) will do his part to ensure that the Russian propaganda will not succeed. The synopsis reveals that he is devising a plan to fight the brewing trouble. Also in episode 5, Coordinator Oliver Shaw (Kobi Libii) of the Cyber Security department will attempt to trace the culprit who hacked the Air Force One's communication system.

Last episode, Elizabeth and Henry (Tim Daly) were horrified to learn that their daughter's naked photo was making rounds in the Internet. Stevie's (Wallis Currie-Wood) intimate relationship with the President's son was laid bare for all the world to see. Harrison's (Jason Ralph) phone got lost the previous week. Even though he promised Stevie that he would delete their pictures together, apparently he did not.

Elizabeth believed that this was the work of the hacker of the President's plane and immediately ordered that all incriminating details be deleted from the electronics. Dalton, for his part, wanted their children to go on television for an interview. He proposed that they admit that they were in love to somehow lessen the impact of the scandal. Elizabeth, however, did not want her daughter to be associated with a heroin addict.

It turned out that the person who leaked the photos was an angry CIA agent who got axed due to a misdemeanor he did not do. He wanted to get revenge on the system, hence, he did the hacking.

"Madam Secretary" airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
