The spotlight is on Henry (Tim Daly) in the upcoming episode of the CBS series "Madam Secretary."

In "Invasive Species," CarterMatt reports that the McCord family will lose someone important. Henry's father has died and his sister Maureen (Kate Burton) is angry at him for not being there for the family. Although most of the series focuses on Elizabeth (Téa Leoni) and her grueling job as Secretary of State, her husband Henry has been as busy as she is, with his work for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). In fact, he played an important role during the Russian crisis that the United States faced previously. If not for the intel that he got from Dmitri (Chris Petrovski), the two countries might have declared war at each other.

His work for the government has kept Henry from attending to his duties as a dutiful son to his parents. After retiring from the Marine Corps, he has become an important asset to the DIA. But to his family, his prolonged absence has become tiresome, especially for Maureen. Now that their father has died, all her hurt for Henry will boil down to the surface, more so when they discover shocking revelations that should never have seen the light of day. What are the secrets that the McCords has been keeping that threaten to "open old wounds?"

Last episode, Elizabeth had a hard time convincing the American Ambassador to Myanmar to back her up in the signing of the Pacific Rim Trade Agreement. This pact would make building hydroelectric dams on the Asian country possible, paving way to its modernization. The diplomat felt that once the construction starts, the natives would be displaced from their natural heritage. It turned out he converted to Buddhism six months before and was being trained by a monk. When he led a demonstration against his own country regarding the agreement, the United States fired him from his position.

Unfortunately, the ambassador decided to hostage the Myanmar President after failing to convince the latter of vetoing the pact. Elizabeth and her entourage had no choice but to send a sniper to take him down. At the end, the trade deal was peacefully signed.

"Madam Secretary" season 2 airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
