The new MacBook Pro 2016 contains a Touch Bar that is nice and fun to use. It has replaced the traditional function keys, and it will change according to the current app one is using. Here are some tips to maximize the new feature of the recently released Apple laptop.

First, the traditional function keys (F1, F2, F3 and so on) can be displayed anytime and on any app. Users simply need to press the Function (fn) key at the bottom left-hand corner of the keyboard. Bringing up the function keys for specific apps will also require the fn key to be pressed, but for a much longer time.

The quarter-point adjustment can also be performed with the new tool. A user simply needs to extend the Touch Bar, and the usual volume function keys will appear. From here, one can use the same old trick to attain the desired volume, pressing option, shift, and volume up (F8) at the same time, or option, shift, and volume down (F9) at the same time.

One can also perform a "tap, hold and drag" movement of the OLED strip for a quick volume adjustment. It also works on the screen brightness,  9To5Mac reported.

A Reddit user suggested that ads on YouTube can be taken out with a tool on the Touch Bar, the scrubbing control. This option pops up on the strip every time a video is loaded, and even the 30-second non-skippable advertisement does not stand a chance to the new tool discovered.

The Touch Bar also dynamically changes when the MacBook Pro 2016 detects an incoming FaceTime or phone call (if the two devices are already linked). A green Accept button and a red Decline button glow on the OLED strip. A simple tap on any of these will get the job done.

If in case that the new laptop is also loaded with a Windows operating system, the Touch Bar will still work with the other OS, but will only provide basic functionality. These include screen brightness, volume adjustment, keyboard backlit brightness and the Escape key. For the traditional function keys, one still needs to press and hold the fn key to show the 12 ones.
