Although "Lucifer" season 3 episode 3 will be different from the first two installments, as it was originally part of the second season, it will still play an important part in the entire story. In the newly-released promo titled "Mr. and Mrs. Mazikeen Smith," viewers will see the return of Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt).

The third episode of the series, which was initially filmed as a part of season 2, was attached to the third run as a stand-alone installment. Although it will not be connected to the main story of "Lucifer" season 3, it will give the fans an insight on the life of Maze — one of the most exciting characters in the series.

In the newly-released episode 3 promo, the synopsis read, "After talking to Lucifer and Linda, Maze realizes that she is looking for more out of life and decides to head to Canada for a tricky case. Chloe however, becomes concerned when she feels that Maze is being deceived by a scheming conman. Upon further investigation, Lucifer and Chloe make a stunning realization when they find that their target may be much closer than they thought.."

Despite not being a part of season 3, the third episode will be an excellent opportunity to know more about Maze as a character. It might also divulge some revelations about Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German), and other cast members.

Meanwhile, "Leftovers" actor Kevin Carroll will appear later in the series as the mysterious and notorious criminal mastermind, the Sinnerman — the one who might be the reason for Lucifer's newly returned wings.

Executive producer Joe Henderson said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "The Sinnerman is going to be one of the big focal points for Lucifer's investigations into who did these things to him. So that's a nice, cool, juicy character that we're going to introduce a little bit into the season."

Carroll's appearance will take place in episode 6.

"Lucifer" season 3 episode 3 will air on Monday, Oct. 16, at 8 p.m. on FOX.
