LA Lakers roster 2015: Is Byron Scott pushing the right buttons?

The Los Angeles Lakers were hoping to rebound from two sorry seasons but at the rate they are going, they are imminently headed to another disappointing season unless they fix their act.

Understandably, the Lakers were expected to have a tough time against other teams but seeing that the team had a chance to snag some wins, it remains that there is something utterly wrong within.

Kobe Bryant is still around but has been missing badly while head coach Byron Scott cannot seem to make up his mind on who he wants on the floor for long spells.

D'Angelo Russell has been given playing time but in bits of pieces. Scott seems to be having some doubts on whether to go with Russell or not, visibly seen with the fast-paced shuffling of men which hinders not only Russell but the rest of the players from settling down and doing their stuff.

Are the players doing something wrong? Well one thing that Scott did point out is that his team is playing poor defense, an area that he has been known for. But could this not be tied up with how he is dividing the playing time with his players?

In the eyes of critics, the problem could be on Scott himself as he continues to search for the right combo and hit the proper five that can allow the Lakers to hum.

Although everything about the rotation seems complicated, Scott needs to define who his regular starters are and who comes in for whom. Experimenting is good but at this point, he needs to establish the key players he will be turning to each time the Lakers take the floor.

Kobe Bryant is still around but the fact remains that the younger players (Russell, Jordan Clarkson, and Julius Randle) need to get longer playing time to reach their potential. Until Scott does that, the woes of the Lakers will continue.
