Los Angeles Clippers trade rumors 2016: Lob City no doubts in possible Blake Griffin€“Kevin Durant switch?

A massive deal might be in the books before the National Basketball Association (NBA) trade deadline arrives, as the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder might engage in a blockbuster switch.

Recently, Clippers star forward Blake Griffin was involved in an off-court incident that led to a hand injury, which will sideline him for some time.

Before hurting his hand, Griffin was already out of action due to a hamstring woe suffered on Christmas Day.

Because of the latest string of events, the former All-Star is now a topic in trade rumors, especially with the Clippers streaking in his absence.

Now, in a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports regarding Durant and the free agency period, he stated that according to a source, the Clippers will have no hesitations replacing Griffin with Durant if a chance comes.

Durant is the most coveted player when July arrives, and there is no doubt he is more of an all-around player than Griffin.

If the Clippers would be frontrunners for the former Most Valuable Player (MVP), an ideal situation to lure him is the possibility of building a big three with All-Star point guard Chris Paul and center DeAndre Jordan.

Another thing to be considered for the potential deal is that Griffin is a native of Oklahoma and the Thunder can pursue a deal to add pride to the team.

However, as Wojnarowski said, the Thunder will likely only trade Durant if they are sure that he will not re-sign when free agency strikes.

The Thunder and Clippers are currently next to each other in the Western Conference standings.

Oklahoma City is third in the West with a 38–13 record, also riding a five-game winning streak, while Lob City is fourth at 32–17 and is coming off a loss versus the Minnesota Timberwolves that ended a four-game winning streak.
