Livestream Movi camera news: Specs, features, price, and release date

Shoot videos and edit simultaneously with Livestream's Movi. Getmovi.com

Shooting videos these days comes so easy; all it takes is a good camera phone and you're all set. But, sometimes it's not enough for professional video shots, especially when it involves shooting lengthy footages such as in a concert or at a game event. That's where Livestream comes in.

This year, Livestream, a video solution company, will introduce Movi, a pocket-sized video camera that lets users record high-resolution videos from several viewpoints — all from a single device.

Movi will be introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show, which will kick off in Las Vegas on Jan. 6.

The device is measured at 2 inches wide and 2.5 inches long. It comes with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology, according to Mashable. Note that Movi only runs on iOS devices for now and they should be at least running on an iOS 9.

The camera's lens allows users to shoot videos from a 150-degree field of view. To compare, a GoPro camera offers a 170-degree field of view.

To capture videos from a live event, simply position the camera in a desired place and run the camera app via an iPhone to start shooting and editing videos simultaneously.

Movi can start searching for other points of interest in a scene with just a tap of a finger. While the device is recording, users can also create points of interest manually or zoom through the scene as they please.

This is the perfect tool for people who don't want to miss important moments in a big event, but don't want to spend a great deal of time editing their captured footages.

"No one wants to go home and edit for hours in FinalCut Pro ... and certainly no one can afford to show up at an event with three cameras and cameramen," Max Haot, Livestream co-founder, told TechCrunch.

Movi will be available in April for $399. Pre-orders start now through the Movi website with a $200 discount from the original price.
