Life isn't about having fun, it's about being fulfilled, says Justin Bieber

Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber is doing his best to show he's sincere about his transformation for the better, as he slowly steps out of his troubled past and heads towards maturity.

On his Instagram account (@justinbieber), he shared some thoughts about the meaning of life.

"Life isn't about having fun, it's about being fulfilled. What's more fun than knowing your purpose and being encouraged because you went the extra mile to help someone else?" he said.

Bieber has gone through his time of fun, which included drugs, drunken arrests, and endless partying. But he has apologised for his arrogance and bad behavior since then, and is striving to improve his image.

"I wanted to make a video because I wanted to express how I feel right now. Today, I was on 'Ellen' and it was a lot of fun. She's amazing," he said in the video. "But I was really nervous, and I think I was nervous because I was afraid of what people are thinking about me right now. It's been a minute since I've been in a public appearance and I didn't want to come off arrogant or conceited — basically how I've been acting the past year or a year and a half."

Now, the young singer is turning his life around and is striving to be a better influence.

"We all have a light; are we going to let it shine or mask it with unfulfilling things? I choose to let my light shine!" committed Bieber. He captioned the Instagram post with: "Who are you gonna encourage." He hashtagged it with 'I wrote this' and 'my thoughts'.

Bieber has been letting his light shine by attending Christian worship services and giving back to charities. Just recently, he donated his size 7 Nike shoes, Toronto Maple Leafs comforter, pillowcase and ceiling lamp to the House of Blessing, a Christian food bank in Stratford, Ontario. He signed all the items, which will start bidding at $500.
