LG has announced a pair of high-resolution monitors that is designed to be paired with the latest laptop offerings from Apple, the MacBook, and the MacBook Pro. The new Ultrafine 5K measures 27 inches, while the Ultrafine 4K is offered at 21.5 inches.

Brian Kwon, president of LG Home Entertainment Company, said in a statement: "We are excited to be introducing two highly advanced displays capable of meeting the needs of even the most demanding Mac users. Not only do these UltraFine displays offer stunning picture quality, they will usher in a new age of connectivity, helping creative users achieve optimal efficiency in their homes, studios or offices."

The LG Ultrafine 5K is intended to work perfectly with the MacBook Pro, and it requires, at the very least, a macOS 10.12. It connects via the ThunderBolt 3 port, and it is designed to suit those that require great visual details in their field of work. Those who are into video editing and professional photography will surely appreciate the brilliant quality that the monitor can provide.

The display offers a 5120 x 2880 resolution with 218 ppi pixel density. It also contains stereo speakers, a built-in webcam, three USB-C (USB 3.1 gen 1) ports with a maximum transfer rate of 5 Gbps. It also has up to 85 watts charging capacity. On Apple's website, it stated that the display measures 18.3 inches (46.4 cm) high, 24.6 inches (62.6 cm) wide, 9.4 inches (23.9 cm) with a stand, and 2.1 inches (5.4 cm) without stand in terms of depth. It weighs 18.7 lb. (8.5 kg.).

The smaller LG Ultrafine 4K monitor connects via the DisplayPort with the MacBook. It also contains three USB 2.0 Type-C ports (480 Mbps) for connecting other devices, which simultaneously provides up to 60 watts of charging power. It also contains a stereo speaker, but no webcam.

It stands 15.3 inches (38.8 cm) high, 19.9 inches (50.5 cm) wide, and 8.6 inches (21.9 cm) deep with a stand, or 1.7 inches (4.4 cm) deep without a stand. It weighs 12.3 lb. (5.6 kg.), and it requires at least the macOS Sierra version 10.121 or later in order to properly work.

The LG Ultrafine 5K is priced at $1,299.95, and it will be available starting in December. The Ultrafine 4K model has a price tag of $699.95, and it will be available sometime in November. Both display monitors will be initially offered in the United States and can be pre-ordered via Apple's website.
