The technological world is always evolving, and people continue to look left and right for new gadgets that they can get their hands on. And the LG G5 is one of them.

South Korean electronics company, LG, is adding a new phone to its series. There has not been a lot of information about the new LG G5 that has been made public, but in this day and age, leaks are everywhere.

The upcoming handset has been surrounded by rumors of its specs. Reports say that the phone will boast a 5.6-inch LCD screen with a QHD resolution and will be slightly bigger in size that the LG G4 that came before it.

In terms of physical appearance, the LG G5 will opt for a metal unibody instead of black leather.

Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 820 chipset will power the LG G5, unlike its predecessor. The back camera sports a large ½" sensor with a resolution of 20MP to 21MP. The front camera, on the other hand, reportedly comes with a resolution of 5MP.

New additions to the LG series would be a fingerprint sensor and an iris scanner in place of pass codes or patterns for unlocking the device.

The fingerprint scanner has already been incorporated in numerous smartphones prior to the LG G5, such as the LG V10, even becoming a feature that is widely expected in new high-end phones. However, the iris scanner is something that is relatively new, although it has been reportedly used in Nokia's Lumia series.

GSMArena reports that the multinational electronics company has chosen to release the LG G5 in February at the Mobile World Congress instead of the usual launch in the year's second quarter. A release in February would mean that LG will be facing its competitor, Samsung, which is another electronics company based in South Korea.
