LG may have something new for gadget freaks out there and it will likely make its official debut this September at the IFA event in Berlin, Germany.
The device being pertained to is LG's newest tablet offering, the LG G Pad 2 10.1. The tablet was reportedly designed for multimedia consumption, as explained by Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company.
The LG G Pad 2 10.1 tablet will be the second in the company's roster of new Android-powered devices and will first be offered in North America and Europe.
The LG tablet will carry a mix of old and new technologies. It will feature a 10.1-inch screen (1920 x 1200 pixels) backed by a Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. If the internal storage is not enough, the tablet will come with provision for expandable storage via MicroSD.
The LG G Pad 2 10.1 will run on Android 5.1.1 and will come loaded with some apps such as Reader Mode, Dual Window, QuickMemo+, and some Microsoft applications.
For its energy needs, the tablet will bank on a massive 7,400 mAh battery for its power needs. The device will be compatible with 4G LTE networks. For now, there is no word if there will be a WiFi model available.
Aside from the features mentioned, the tablet will also come with a back and front camera. It will have a 5-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter; not exactly the highest of specs, although it may have to do for now. The tablet will not include a stylus pen like its predecessor as well as a full sized USB port.
As far as the dimension of the LG G Pad 2 is concerned, the device is just 7.8 millimeters thick; it weighs only 489 grams.
There is still no word on pricing and actual release date, although all that could very well be divulged at the IFA event next month.
