LG Class specs, release date rumors: Leak shows device days before official unveiling

LG Logo LG

LG is priming for an event scheduled on Sept. 21 and rumor has it that the LG Class will be released there. Days before its alleged unveiling, the device was shown in a batch of new images that showcase it from every angle.

The photos show the smartphone, or at least a mock-up of it, clad in metal. It also has unusually thick and gleaming bezels at the top and the bottom of the display. The ones on the left and right rims are also quite broad, making the device look chunky.

The LG Class seems to have no buttons on either side but instead, these buttons are located on the back panel. Speaking of which, the device's rear has a speaker grille sitting on the left hand side of the primary camera. The LG logo is plastered proudly on the bottom.

The upcoming device is said to come with a 5-inch display and will support 4G LTE connectivity. There's no mention of the processor it will carry or the internal memory and the storage space it will offer, but it looks like it will be expandable as the images show that there could be a microSD card slot.

Previously, though, it was rumored to house 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, which will all be driven by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. It was also touted to sport a 12- or 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel snapper on the front. Unfortunately, these specs were discovered to actually belong to another device, which is being referred to by media outlets as the LG H740. At first, both the LG Class and the H740 were speculated to be only one device but new leaks suggest otherwise.

LG is expected to make the LG Class official on Sept. 21 with a rumored price tag of KRW 400,000, or approximately $340.
