Tech manufacturer Lenovo has unveiled its latest offering for the convertible laptop market, the Yoga 700.
One of the most noted features of the new hybrid is that the Lenovo Yoga 700 lineup is one of the first 2-in-1 devices to use the new Skylake architecture (at least for the premium edition). The Yoga 700 has two variants, the 11-inch and 14-inch versions.
The base model 11-inch variant is suited for fans who would like to combine performance and mobility. The ultra-portable weighs 1.1 kg and is only 15.8 mm thin. In terms of display, the 11-inch IPS display has a 10-point multitouch function and is able to provide Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution. According to GSM Arena, the smaller Yoga 700 is powered by an Intel Core m3 processor and Intel HD Graphics 515. There is 4 GB of RAM onboard, and the 11-inch tablet has 128 GB of storage. There is a micro-HDMI and one USB 3.0 port.
Under the hood, the premium 14-inch Yoga 700 is run by a Skylake Intel Core i7 with Intel HD Graphics 520. Those who would like to use the 14-inch hybrid as a graphics-intensive workhorse can also add an optional 2 GB Nvidia GeForce GT 940M. Meanwhile, the base model for the premium device comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of SSD storage, and there is also an option to upgrade to at least 256 GB.
According to Johnson Jia, senior vice president at Lenovo, the new Yoga 700 series was made for those who would like their mobile workstations to be portable yet powerful enough for demanding tasks. He said, "That's why we made the new YOGA 700 thinner and more powerful than ever with Windows 10 and Intel's latest processor. We also added a Full HD IPS display and Dolby stereo speakers as part of its standard features so that consumers can get a premium quality convertible laptop for work and travel, at the price of a standard laptop."
