In a bunch of possible witnesses to a crime, no one wants to talk and Lt. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) will find out why in the upcoming episode of the long-running NBC series "Law & Order: SVU."

In "Forty-One Witnesses," TV Guide reports that a woman has been raped in plain sight of the building she is staying at. A group of men followed her home and conducted the deed right outside her place. Anyone could have seen and prevented the crime, but nobody called for help. As a result, one woman's life has been ruined.

As she deals with the traumatic episode in her life, the SVU will find a way to get her the justice she deserves. Olivia and her team will need to find a viable witness who can tell exactly what happened that fateful night the woman was raped. They have to sift through all the evidences they can find to track down the rapists and make sure they pay for their crime. Unfortunately for the squad, this is going to be a drawn out case, where witnesses are too scared to talk.

The promo for the episode shows Olivia and her team scouting the place where the rape happened. In the clip, the victim is accosted in front of her building. As she screams for help, many tenants open their lights, with some even looking down at the scene. One woman witnesses the men leading the victim away from the building so she can really provide a detailed description of the rapists.

As the SVU starts to ask questions, they keep on saying that they did not see anything. The potential primary witness also denies that she saw what happened. All of them are in denial that a woman has been raped while they watched and did nothing. What are they hiding? How will Olivia be able to convince them that they need to talk for justice to be served?

"Law & Order: SVU" season 17 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
