Lamar Odom update: Khloe Kardashian's ex-husband making progress

Lamar Odom has took a turn for the best ever since being found unconscious last week at a brothel in Las Vegas.

Odom showed initial signs of improvement with his heart functioning, followed up by his ability to respond and speak. He has been taken out of life support and is now breathing with the help of a mask; but the doctors caution that despite the remarkable progress, Odom is still not totally in the clear.

Odom underwent a swallow test, something to check his neurological function and passed. More to that, he was able to move with some assistance and showed no signs of distress.

Overall, Odom has been showing positive signs, but doctors say that there is always the possibility of setbacks.

Recall that before the stunning progress of the former National Basketball Association (NBA) player and TV personality, he was reported to have four key organs failing. These included his kidney, which required him to go on dialysis.

Such seems to have been set aside with Odom showing positive signs.

He asked for his children Destiny and Lamar Jr. when he came around. Estranged wife Khloe Kardashian stayed by his bedside. There was, however, one curious instance which Odom's high school head coach and father figure Jim Harrick bared during the time Kardashian was by Odom's side.

"She reached down and said 'you know I love you' and he kind of nodded," revealed Harrick to USA Today.

Kardashian has been seen with and confirmed to be dating Houston Rockets guard James Harden, so this should be something interesting.

Odom and Khloe did file for divorce, but such hasn't gotten any headway. So would this life-threatening experience change all that?
