'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date: Multiplayer mode, Pixar world and 'Kingdom Hearts 2.9'

Kingdom Hearts III will feature a San Fransokyo world, with all the characters coming along. Kingdom Hearts

Not much is known about "Kingdom Hearts 3" but thanks to rumor mills' nonstop churning, fans are getting morsels of details that help paint the whole picture. The latest rumor claims that a Pixar property will make it to the game.

The possibility was reported after website KH13 spotted a LinkedIn page of a certain designer from Square Enix. Apparently, one of the artist's jobs at the game studio included "holding meetings with Disney and Pixar," which instigated the rumor. He also mentioned that he was in charge of the planning of the Gummi Ship and multiplayer mode.

If "Kingdom Hearts 3" really is featuring a multiplayer and a world from Pixar, fans are in for a big treat. As per Design & Trend, gamers have hoped to see those in action in the franchise. In turn, the question of which Pixar domain will be integrated has become the main focus.

Meanwhile, the said Square Enix designer also made mention of "Kingdom Hearts 2.9," which hasn't been broached before. It is stated in his page that it is being made for the PS3 and PS4 consoles. Media outlets surmise that the title is some sort of remaster of previous "Kingdom Hearts" installments.

It could also be that this game is the name of a demo for "Kingdom Hearts 3." It is a probable theory as Square Enix also named the demo for "Final Fantasy 15" differently – "Episode Duscae." It remains to be seen what "Kingdom Hearts 2.9" really is and there's no solid proof of its existence so it is best to take it with a grain of salt.

When "Kingdom Hearts 3" stopped by Disney's D23 event last month, game director Tetsuya Nomura revealed that "Big Hero 6" will be featured in the highly-anticipated new adventure of Sora and friends. Apart from the world of Baymax and Hiro, no other Disney world has been confirmed for inclusion.
