Jordan vows revenge on ISIS until they run out of 'fuel or bullets'

The nation of Jordan is still reeling from the brutal killing of pilot Lt. Muath al-Kasasbeh in the past week.

King Abdullah vowed vengeance against the Islamic State (IS) in a private meeting with the House Armed Services Committee that included references to the Clint Eastwood hit "Unforgiven."

"He said there is going to be retribution like ISIS hasn't seen," Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter Jr., who was in the meeting, reported on Wednesday.  "He mentioned 'Unforgiven' and he mentioned Clint Eastwood, and he actually quoted a part of the movie."

In "Unforgiven," Clint Eastwood is a retired outlaw in the Old West who returns to the killing profession. He vowed bloody revenge against his enemies, and King Abdullah reportedly expressed similar plans against IS.

"He's angry," Hunter said of the king. "They're starting more sorties tomorrow than they've ever had. They're starting tomorrow. And he said, 'The only problem we're going to have is running out of fuel and bullets.'

"He's ready to get it on," he continued. "He really is. It reminded me of how we were after 9/11. We were ready to give it to them."

After the death of Lt. al-Kasasbeh, Jordan executed two al-Qaeda prisoners in response. IS was negotiating the release of one of the prisoners in exchange for the pilot's life.

At the end of the most recent death video, the militants call for the murder of several other Jordanian soldiers allegedly involved in attacks against IS in Iraq and Syria.

Lt. al-Kasasbeh was captured by the terrorists on December 24 after his jet went down in Syria. He had been assisting in US-led airstrikes in the area.
