There is currently a lot of excitement over the slew of new television series set in the bigger Marvel Cinematic Universe, more specifically towards Marvel's "Luke Cage" and "Jessica Jones." Both of the superheroes are, of course, well known to be married in the comics, which means that both of them will be featured on each other's shows. While fans are most likely binge watching the recently released first season of "Luke Cage," some are now looking forward to the events that will be transpiring in "Jessica Jones" season 2.

The first season of the popular Netflix web television series featured the heartbreaking separation of Jessica Jones (played by Krysten Ritter) and her now ex-lover Luke Cage (played by Mike Colter). Fans are, however, positive that the two would likely be rekindling their romance in the upcoming new season given that they do end up being married and even have a kid together in the comics. It is expected that the show itself will be mirroring that particular timeline and that Jones and Cage will get back together eventually.

Both the shows will lead up to the characters' involvement with the superhero group calling themselves the "Defenders." The group will also have their own crossover miniseries which will include other superheroes such as Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). "The Defenders" is expected to air sometime in 2017.

Reports have also revealed that Colter's character will likely be a big part of "Jessica Jones" season 2. However, it is still uncertain if his appearance in the new season would lead to both characters getting back together again.

The second season of "Jessica Jones" is expected to air on Netflix sometime in 2018.

Season 2 of "Luke Cage," on the other hand, has not been confirmed yet but fans are confident that it will be renewed for a second season based on the mostly positive response towards the recently released first season.
