A new guy is set to put Jane Villanueva's (Gina Rodriguez) heart in a flutter when the hit The CW series "Jane the Virgin" returns for the second half of season 2.
TV Line reports that Dax, who will be played by "Scream Queens" star Diego Boneta, will be meeting Jane when her computer suddenly decides to stop functioning just when its owner needs it for her papers. Described as "genius techie and hipster skateboarder," Dax will reportedly end up "surprising" Jane, which can mean he and Mateo's mom will find something to bond about other than the electronic gadget. Will the skater boy also end up stealing Jane from the two men who have been fighting over her for quite some time now?
The midseason finale closed with Jane still at odds with both Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) and Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni). Michael drew no love from Jane when he started a fight with Rafael that ended up hurting the baby. Mateo got injured when shards from a broken glass hit him during the brawl. Jane was furious with Michael for not thinking about the safety of her son. Michael then left the town to continue his investigation regarding the mysterious Sin Rostro. Many viewers thought it was a signal that he was out of the running for Jane's hand.
Rafael was left with a wide berth to pursue her. Things were starting to work out for the pair, as they bond over Mateo. They even kissed in one of the episodes. Unfortunately, Jane learned that her baby's daddy was involved in getting Michael fired from his job. During the Christmas celebration of their family, she and Rafael were still frosty with each other. Even Matteo's first encounter with Santa Claus had no effect on bridging the difference between his parents. Jane still could not accept that Rafael could be so vindictive over Michael.
Will Dax worm his way into Jane's heart with his expert advice on electronics? Bustle reports that viewers should also not forget hot English professor Jonathan Chavez (Adam Rodriguez), as he and Jane will spend more time together in season 2B. Among these hunks, whom will Jane end up choosing?
"Jane the Virgin" will return on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
