4-inch iPhone 6: New smaller iPhone to come with Touch ID

Will Apple release a smaller iPhone 6 model soon?

Apple Inc.'s release of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus became widely successful despite the apprehension of some consumers when it comes the phones sporting larger screens. But even though the new models have become a huge hit, it seems like the Cupertino-based tech giant will still release a smaller iPhone 6 version soon.

According to a speculation posted on a Chinese website called Feng, the tech giant is reportedly developing a new iPhone 6 variant that features a smaller display screen.

Based on a report posted on the Electronic Times of Taiwan, the decision to create a smaller version of the popular iPhone 6 is to accommodate the needs of female users who could have problems using the bigger screened handset models. This may be the company's answer to the call of consumers who are clamoring to bring back the usual iPhone sizes in the market, since many of them experience problems using the smartphone with just one hand.

This report may not come as a surprise, since the company is known to be gearing toward phone products with smaller sizes compared to its Android competitors. Even the late CEO Steve Jobs mentioned that a smaller display screen is better, because users can easily navigate through it with just a single hand.

Furthermore, several Apple insiders mentioned that the tech company is working on a project which will allegedly be called the iPhone 6s, which could look just like earlier phone models such as the iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, and the iPhone 5s.

If the rumors turn out to be true, the smaller iPhone 6 model will come with the features that are currently included in the regular iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus releases, which were launched back in September this year, including Touch ID.

The news about the possible release of a smaller iPhone 6 could also mean that there will be more budget options for Apple consumers, since a tinier screen means the device will be offered within a more affordable price range.
