Is there an iPad Air 3 in sight?

Well, after the debut of the iPad Pro and the iPad Mini 4, it seems only imminent that folks would look for it and so the rumors are beginning to build up.

The decision of Apple to forego the debut of the iPad Air 3 is seen as a strategic move. With the iPad Mini 4 and iPad Pro already in focus, adding the iPad Air 3 to the mix could affect the potential market performance of the two tablets, especially considering that both practically come in the same sizes.

Aside from probably gambling on its revenue potential, another possible issue surrounding its delayed release is production, seeing how three tablets in production could cause delays or even shortage.

Is the iPad Air 3 that good that the company was unwilling to reveal it just yet?

It seems that the said device will be much more powerful and is something that is believed to top the iPad Pro. Among the touted features of the iPad Air 3 include a 4K display and that it will reportedly be made water-resistant.

The unofficial specs of the iPad Air 3 include a 9.7-inch screen that boasts of a 4096 x 2160 resolution with 401 pixels per inch (ppi); an A9X processor; storage options ranging from 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB; an 8-megapixel iSight main camera; and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is expected to come with iOS9 out of the box, which will hopefully be bug-free by the time it comes out in 2016.

Although these are only rumored specs for now, there are some who are voicing out their wishes for the iPad Air 3. That includes possibly a bigger screen (around 12 inches), a more powerful processor, and something lighter and/or thinner.

If the word out is true, the iPad Air 3 could be out by spring of 2016.
