iPad Air 3 release date, specs: Device to come out in September or October; to be thinner and lighter

Will Apple release a successor to the iPad Air 2? Apple

Apple fans have been awaiting the next version of the Ipad Air since the Ipad Air 2 was released way back in October 2014. Many devices have come and gone but still no official word on when the Cupertino based company will produce the next device in the line.

Will there even be an iPad 3? Due to the lack of information available on the new device, pundits are theorizing that Apple may simply discontinue the line altogether.

According to a report by Trusted Reviews, fans of the iPad should not lose hope as an updated version may come up in September or October along with the expected release of the iPhone 7.

For the price range, the new device is expected to cost somewhere between £399 - £559 depending on the storage.

In terms of specs, the release of the iPad Pro 9.7 inch in March, which was the expected announcement for the Ipad Air 3 actually threw everyone for a loop because most of the specs expected for the latter became part of the IPad Pro 9.7.

Still, this has not stopped the internet from coming up with speculation.

According to a report by MobiPicker, the new iPad Air is expected to be lighter and thinner than most Apple devices. It can be recalled that when the IPad Aid 2 was launched, it impressed users with its lightness and sleek build.

It is also expected that the new device will use Apple's new chipset A10 or A10X. An improvement in the camera compared to its predecessor is also a given with the advancements made by Apple in multimedia since the Ipad Air 2 release.

The iPad Air 2 is expected to bridge the gap in the Apple tablet line so many fans are expecting the company to pull all the stops for the long awaited device.
