iPad Mini 4 vs iPad Air 2 vs iPad Pro specs: Which Apple iPad is right for you?

 Apple.com

Reports have surfaced saying that although the recently released iPad Mini 4 is the smallest among the current tablet lineups of Apple, it has an advantage in terms of display over the iPad Pro.

This raised the question of distinct pros and cons of each tablet from Apple. Although being considered as one type of product, the tablet lineup of the Cupertino-based company has had many iterations over the years. Of the current iPad Air 2, iPad Pro, and iPad Mini 4, which would be best suited to be a workhorse?

Design

One of the most noted features of Apple products is that the company doesn't deviate much from well-received design, and this is true with the current iPad lineup. Although each one is different in terms of size, feature, and tech specs, the overall design of the three current iPad iterations closely resemble one another. The same metal-and-plastic combination chassis and glass-like finish can be seen on all three.

Meanwhile, although the iPad Pro is the largest, coming in at almost 13 inches, it is just a shade thicker than the other two. The new professional-level iPad has a 6.9 mm build, which is close to the iPad Air 2 and Mini 4's 6.1 mm thinness.

Specs and features

Apple's intent to come out with different iPads might be to cover as much range of the market as possible, and it shows in the under-the-hood features of each. The recently released iPad Pro was designed to be more of a hybrid, professional-level mobile workstation than an entertainment-focused tablet. It carries the powerful A9X chipset from the Cupertino-based giant, as well as above-average 32- and 128-GB storage options. The other features of the iPad Pro, like its Apple Pencil support, make it an ideal business tablet.

The iPad Air 2 and Mini 4, meanwhile, feature the A8X and A8 processors, respectively. Coupled with features like the Touch ID sensor and different storage options, the two are for users with entertainment and everyday online tasks in mind and, in the case of the Mini 4, for those who want their tablets to have above-average specs but a size small enough to carry with them every day.
