iOS 9.0 jailbreak shackled with latest iOS 9.1 update

Apple owners enjoyed some freedom, thanks to the efforts of the Pangu Team who needed only 28 days to come up with an iOS 9 Jailbreak. All that, however, was scathed when Apple released iOS 9.1 made in just seven days.

So now, Apple users who may have taken the Pangu Team on their offer will have to wait for the latter to go back to the drawing board and come up with another jailbreak for iOS 9.1, unless Apple comes up with another OS update soon.

The availability of an iOS 9 Jailbreak did come as a surprise, considering how others found it hard to breach the previous iOS 8 versions. The release of the iOS 9 jailbreak was first reported back on Oct. 14.

Of course, folks who don't want to lose their freedom brought about by the jailbreak can always opt not to update to the latest iOS 9.1. However, that may not be a wise choice, considering you are passing up security fixes which could be vital for your Apple device.

Such include protection from bugs that allow hackers gain control of the device with a simple mistake of visiting a malicious site. Depending on how alert the user may be, such can be avoided, of course, but there is still that risk of making an erroneous click.

That is just one of the fixes that iOS 9.1 carries. The other has to do with a memory corruption issue in the kernel of the device, which could eventually compromise privileges.

Aside from mobile phones, iOS 9.1 offers some fixes as well for Apple device desktops, servers, and Windows.

It remains to be seen how fast (or long?) the Pangu Team or other would be hackers could come up with another jailbreak. Could they do it within 28 days once more? Stay tuned!
