iOS 8.3 news: No passwords needed for free app downloads

Apple users who have been irritated by the constant need to input their Apple user id and password may soon get some reprieve if this latest update holds true.

Though the update is not that major, iOS 8.3 will reportedly allow users to disable the 'require password' option when they head on over to the iTunes store and download free apps.

This feature will likewise be good news to free app iOS developers, especially the ones who have a hard time getting discovered. With a ton of free apps available from iTunes this change could hopefully get them more exposure and potentially improve their apps.

On another note, this new revision could address some folks who do not have an Apple user ID. It is apparent that there are some iPhone or iPad owners fail to have one, perhaps because they don't have a credit card which would be needed to complete their sign up.

Hence, getting hold of free apps for folks who don't have an Apple ID has just gotten easier, somehow similar on how Google Play apps are downloaded.

Just in case, Apple owners simply have to go to their password settings and look for the Purchases and In-App Purchases and disable the 'Require Password' and you are good to go.

Many iPhone, iPad or iPod users are expected to cheer this feature, something that was actually available in the past. Do note that this feature only pops up when the Touch ID is disabled. This feature will only cover free apps.

As far as paid apps are concerned, password requirement will still be enforced.

Aside from the removal of password for free apps, another great feature to look forward to is the enhancement of Siri. With iOS 8.3, users can simply ask Siri to make a call on their behalf and the call will be made via the device's speaker phones.

This enhancement should be a big help for people who want to maximize Siri's hands-free capability.
