Subset Games — the developers of "Faster than Light" — are currently working on another Sci-Fi adventure. Titled "Into the Breach" the game is slated for a Feb. 27 release.

While the game's debut is still a few weeks away, a Steam page is currently available for those who want to learn more about the upcoming action-packed Sci-Fi adventure by Subset Games.

The official Steam synopsis reads: "Control powerful mechs from the future to defeat an alien threat. Each attempt to save the world presents a new randomly generated challenge in this turn-based strategy game."

Set in the distant future, "Into the Breach" features a torn-down world where humans must fight and struggle in order to survive. Strange creatures have been multiplying beneath the earth's surface, and humans must fight against the growing threat. The aliens are powerful and the humans must rely on technology and the use of brand-new mechs in order to stave off the ever-present threat.

Despite the aliens and action-packed missions, "Into the Breach" is a turn-based strategy game that relies on both wits and timing instead of first-person action.

According to Kotaku, "Into the Breach" is a nice crossover between "Faster than Light" and "XCOM," two exciting games that relied heavily on strategy and team and object placement. Kotaku also described some of the combat mechanics in greater detail. Unlike in other games where players can try to dodge enemy attacks, there is no way to do so in "Into the Breach." Instead, players will know about their enemies' upcoming actions beforehand and will have to try and stop the attack.

A unique combat system aside, the game will also feature a handful of other things. Players will need to defend civilian structures from aliens, build the most powerful mech suit they can, and travel back in time whenever they are defeated. The latter is an interesting mechanic that sends players to alternate dimensions once they are defeated in their current world.
