Apple fans are speculating that the iMac 2016 will arrive with the rumored MacBook Pro. Both devices are expected to be unveiled during a still-unconfirmed media event happening in October.

Rumors abound that an upgrade will also happen with the company's all-in-one (AIO) desktop machines. Several reports suggest that the incoming model contains an Intel Kaby Lake processor, while others mentioned that a Skylake chip would be included instead.

The iMac 2016 could also arrive with an AMD Radeon RX series GPU. These graphics chips are powerful enough to run virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) applications, which is currently a trend for computer users. A decent GPU is the only component that inhibits these resources-hugging applications to run on Apple machines, and the Polaris-based chips will provide the power it needs.

The latest operating system will definitely come pre-loaded. The macOS Sierra brings several new features, aside from the company's digital assistant, Siri. Apple could also throw in a couple of USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Two models are speculated to arrive with the device, a 21.5-inch model and a 27-inch model, similar to the current offering. Prices could start at around $1,799. Some reports also suggest that the small variant will arrive with a 4K Retina display, while the bigger version could arrive with a 5K display resolution screen. The 5K capable screens are said to be manufactured by LG Electronics.

Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro 2016 model is widely anticipated to arrive with the Kaby Lake processor, an OLED touch bar that will replace the traditional function keys, Touch ID, USB Type-C ports, and Thunderbolt 3 connection. A headphone jack will still be used on the laptop.

A recent email sent supposedly by Tim Cook to a fan, cemented the belief that upgraded versions will soon arrive. An upgraded MacBook Air is also predicted to show up.

Fans are anticipating a media event to happen on Oct. 24 for the unveiling the said devices.
