October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and HTC does its own little way of showing its support for the cause.

And that comes in the form of a special version of the HTC One M9, a pink version that should somehow align itself with the call to better educate, protect, and save women's lives from the said condition.

The special pink version was rolled out last Oct. 7 in the retail market and can be bought directly from its U.S. website. The latest color variant appends the initial three colors originally unveiled by the company — silver, gunmetal gray, gold, and pink.

The special pink model comes in two variants. One is the regular pink model while the other is another pink-clad device with a Breast Cancer Research Foundation ribbon on its back. Despite the slight difference, both device carry the same cost of $649.

Now, being a special version, the pink HTC One M9 will be a limited edition piece. The device will be only made available until Oct. 31.

For those who avail of it, an additional $100 Google Play credit goes with it as well as a pink Dot View Ice case, which will be included for free.

This variant is only compatible with GSM carriers, meaning it won't work with Sprint or Verizon Wireless.

There is no word though on whether  or not HTC would be shelling out part of the sales of the HTC One M9 special edition to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, although the company has already pledged to donate $25,000.

Regardless, HTC has also placed a special portion on the website for those who want to give donations anyway.

"Through this partnership, and with your help, we can take one step closer to eradicating breast cancer," HTC said in the listing for the pink One M9 on its website.
