HTC One M9 'Hima' rumors: Consumers should not expect radical change?

2014 is coming to a close and the New Year indicates the release of some highly anticipated devices, including the HTC One M9, allegedly called "Hima."

Many are intrigued by what this handset will bring to the table, but some reports state that consumers should not expect the One M9 to have a radical change from the current HTC One M8. But although there is allegedly not much update on the outward appearance of the handset, there's also word that upgrades in the internal components like the processor, operating system, and camera are still something to be excited about.

The HTC One M9 "Hima" is rumored to come with the following specs: 5-inch Full HD screen display; 2.0 GHz Snapdragon 810 processor with 64-bit architecture; 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage with microSD slot of up to 128 GB; Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with HTC Sense 7.0 UI; 20.7-megapixel Sony Exmor RS IMX220 sensor or 13-megapixel back camera; 4 Ultrapixel front-facing shooter; and 2840 mAh battery.

One tipster with Twitter handle @upleaks, who has so far been a reliable source of HTC-related leaks, tipped that the handset will be released in March after the Mobile World Congress 2015. Its latest tweets revealed that HTC will hold a separate press launch for the smartphone like what the company did last year when it released the M8. This year, the flagship handset will be released alongside two other smartphones – Hima "Ace" and its Chinese variant Hima "Ultra". The "Ace" variant will sport a plastic body and not the signature metal casing of HTC smartphones. Moreover, these smartphones will be powered by MediaTek processors and not Qualcomm's Snapdragon SoC. HTC already packed MediaTek processors in its previous smartphones – Desire 310, Desire 516 and Desire 820.

However, the Taiwanese OEM manufacturer has not announced the official specs and features of the HTC One M9 yet.
