A new flagship device from HTC, called HTC Aero, is expected to come out either in October or November, although it may come with an operating system (OS) that is different from what was reported earlier.

After earlier rumors suggested a possible Android 5.1.1 OS out of the box, the update on the upcoming HTC flagship device reveals that it may come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow instead.

Word about the change in OS comes from tipster @LLabTooRer, who also mentioned that the device will come with Sense 7 out of the box once it hits the market. If true, the HTC Aero 9 will become the first Android-powered device to come with the latest Android OS outside the Nexus line.

Aside from the OS upgrade, some possible specs that the HTC Aero A9 could come with include a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a 10-core Helio X20 processor, 4 GB of RAM, microSD card slots, and a curious 20-megapixel "groundbreaking" camera.

The HTC Aero 9 will reportedly sport an improved and thinner mold, available in dark gray and gold colors. A 3,500 mAh battery will be tasked to provide the necessary power storage for the said device.

Speaking of Nexus devices, Google is expected to lift the covers on the two highly anticipated Nexus 5 2015 during its Sept. 29 event that will be held San Francisco. Ironically, HTC is reportedly holding a similar press event in Hakone, Japan on the same day. There is belief that HTC Aero A9 will make its official debut during the said event. The HTC event, however, is still up for confirmation.

As mentioned earlier, a lot falls as well on the overall design of the upcoming HTC Aero 9 aside from the rumored yet impressive specs out in the open. Could the new design be interesting enough to draw in more prospective buyers to the HTC niche?
