Will there be some changes to the Keating Five when 'How to Get Away with Murder" returns for its third season on ABC?

Fans theories recently suggested a major shakedown in Annalise's inner circle after the season trailer showed Annalise (Viola Davies) being sabotaged in the university with flyers bearing her likeness and calling her a killer, reported Game N' Guide.

It is unsure who is behind the smear campaign, but rumors speculate that one of her team may be responsible for the move.

Meanwhile, a report from News Everyday hinted that three members of the Keating Five will play vital roles in the story when the show returns.

It is said that Michaela (Aja Naomi King), Wes (Alfred Enoch), and Laurel (Karla Souza) will have pivotal roles in the upcoming season's developments, especially Laurel, whose backstory has not been fully explored in the past seasons.

It can be recalled that in season 2, Michaela broke up with Caleb Hapstall (Kendrick Sampson) after it was uncovered that he was tattling on them to the DA, leading her to start an unlikely fling with Asher (Matt McGorry), who is also suffering from heartbreak after Bonnie (Liza Weil) dumped him.

Wes, on the other hand, has to deal with the emotional toll of witnessing his biological father's murder just as he was about to step in and meet him formally. Previous reports hinted that this would take its toll on Wes, who has had to deal with a lot of loss in the past.

Laurel, on the other hand, is rebelling after Frank's (Charlie Weber) confession of his role in Lila's (Megan West) death. Viewers are expected to see a different side of Laurel in the show's third run.

Meanwhile, singer Mary J. Blige is expected to appear in the show as one of the guests for season 3. Brett Butler of "The Leftovers" will also appear in a mystery role that will have an impact on the Keating Five.

"How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 returns today, Sept. 22., at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
