The tension between Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) will continue to escalate in the upcoming episode of the Showtime series "Homeland."

In "Parabiosis," Cartermatt reports that the ex-CIA agent will rely on her former boss for some answers on who really put her name on the kill list.

Last episode, Carrie learned from Astrid (Nina Hoss) that the hitman who shot Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) was working freelance after his stint with the Russian intelligence. This led Carrie to believe that it was the Russians who wanted her dead. Believing that the hacked CIA documents in journalist Laura Sutton's (Sarah Sokolovic) possession held the answer, Carrie set out to meet her at the train station.

When they talked, however, Laura said she did not have the papers. She suggested that Carrie contact one of her friends from the agency to help her. But at the end of the episode, she chose to reach out to Saul. Viewers saw them sitting inside a cab.

In the upcoming episode, the promo reveals that Carrie will be reaching out to her former boss for help. Saul, however, will hear nothing of it, as he can be seen walking out on Carrie. He will also command a sweep at the station, presumably to track where she will go. Knowing there is no help coming from Saul, Carrie will ask Otto During (Sebastian Koch) for support.

Meanwhile, Quinn's condition takes a turn for the worse. When Carrie left him in the care of her boyfriend Jonas (Alexander Fehling), he appeared to be dying. Carrie asked Jonas to call an ambulance, but Quinn managed to escape. Viewers saw him trying to drown himself until a man saved him. This person also followed Quinn several blocks and helped him when he collapsed.

In the preview, Quinn is asking the man why he gave blood to a total stranger. The next clip shows him surrounded by a group of men with Russian accents and he is being asked if he is an American spy.

"Homeland" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on Showtime.
