Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) will ensure that Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) remains safe in the upcoming episode of "Homeland."

In "Better Call Saul," Cartermatt reports that the former lovers are now working together for Carrie's safety. Last episode, it became apparent that Quinn, instead of killing Carrie, was there to help her. Carrie herself was unsure of Quinn's true motives for kidnapping her. But then, he told her that it was Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) who wanted her dead.

Carrie did not want to believe that her former boss, someone she considered a close friend, would send an assassin to kill her. It was not until she and Quinn went to the post office to pick up his next assignment that a solid proof that the CIA boss was the one behind the attack surfaced. A man tried to kill them, but Quinn got to him first. Carrie then nabbed the man's phone and took a picture of him.

The phone contained only one phone number. Quinn told Carrie to call the number only if she was prepared to learn the truth. Carrie proceeded to make the call anyway and she was shocked to learn who the person was on the other line. It was CIA Berlin Station Chief Allison Carr (Miranda Otto).

Meanwhile, Saul and his right hand woman thought that their plan was going well last episode. Allison got the chance to talk with General Youssef (Igal Naor). His daughter was undergoing a kidney transplant when Allison appeared and offered him a proposal. The International Business Times reports that they want him to replace Bashar al-Assad, President of Syria.

Allison told the general that once Damascus falls, he and his family would be the first to get killed if he did not do anything. He also received a $10 million bribe to buy the support he needed. Before the general boarded his plane, they got his assurance that he would take the president's place. But Saul and Allison was horrified when a few seconds after his plane departed, it exploded in midair.

Who assassinated Youssef? What will Saul do now that his trump card is dead? Find out on "Homeland" as it airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on Showtime.
