After two years of nothing but radio silence, "Rock Band" is finally returning to the radar with a new rocking DLC. Today marks the day the title will confer its gamers some new epic songs to jam on.
"We had an exciting opportunity to add new content to the already-massive Rock Band library with a song from Arctic Monkeys -- a band that's never been in a Rock Band title before! -- as well as new music from fan favorites Avenged Sevenfold and Foo Fighters," Harmonix PR manager Nick Chester told Game Spot. "We couldn't pass it up. Also, we wanted to see if we could still do it. Turns out we can. It's sort of like riding a bike."
Players can now head to the "Rock Band" Music Store to purchase the new tunes, which cost $1.99 each. American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold will help players raise the roof with "Shepherd Of Fire," which was tapped from their album "Hail to the King." Fans will also love British rock band Arctic Monkeys' "R U Mine?" — one that was drawn from their latest album called "AM." Lastly, American rock band legends Foo Fighters would not miss the party with their song titled "Something From Nothing," which belongs to their hottest album titled "Sonic Highways."
The tracks are the newest additions to the franchise's enormous music library that consists of a whopping 3,500 songs from more than 1,400 artists. Players will be able to use the songs with "Rock Band 3" as well as "Rock Band Blitz." However, PlayStation 3 owners who live in Europe will have to wait for Jan. 21 to get the exciting music pack.
The emergence of the DLC has encouraged chitchat about a possible "Rock Band 4." Forbes puts its money on Harmonix releasing a new one by E3 2015, adding that both PS4 and Xbox One will get it by summer 2016. But this is only a mere speculation, at least for now.
