 Rockstar Games Newswire

Rockstar Games has a treat in store for fans this Halloween.

Posting on Newswire on its official site, the developer of the long-running "Grand Theft Auto" franchise announced that the Halloween Surprise event is now live for "Grand Theft Auto Online" players.

The event runs until November 16. However, the Halloween Surprise will not be unlocked for all "GTA Online" players. The event is only available for the current-gen platforms of the title.

As part of the in-game treats, "GTA Online" players on PC, PS4, and Xbox One will have access to two new Halloween-themed vehicles for the duration of the event. The Franken Stange and Lurcher Hearse will be available for a limited time. In addition, there will be at least 20 ghoulish Bobbleheads dashboard accessory that can be installed in any vehicles customizable with the "Lowrider" DLC.

Aside from the new cars and accessories, there are also new monster masks available at Vespucci Movie Masks. A Halloween-themed mask will also be the default option for crews who will complete heist missions for the duration of the Halloween Surprise event. Meanwhile, there will also be at least 30 new styles of face paint for players to choose from.

There will also be a change in gameplay for players who will be online during the Halloween Surprise duration. As an added bonus, Rockstar Games adds a new Slasher Adversary Mode. In this mission, up to eight players will have to navigate, run, and hide in a darkened map while trying to survive a shotgun blast from the player designated as the slasher. Each session will last for three minutes, and players who survive will have the chance to become the slasher in the next rounds.

Rockstar Games also announced a special weekend event for the Halloween, with a livestream on Oct. 30 at 5 p.m ET.
