'GTA 5: San Andreas 2' for PS4, Xbox One versions releasing in 2015 is a hoax

Fake GTA 5: San Andreas 2 press release Twitter

"Grand Theft Auto" fans are in for a huge disappointment because the news about the release of the so-called "GTA 5: San Andreas 2" on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next year is a hoax.

The supposed "press release" for "GTA 5: San Andreas 2" was posted in a website called Grand Times, saying that the highly-anticipated game will come out on next-gen platforms in 2015. The article reads:

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas 2 has finally been confirmed this week after Rockstar made the surprising announcement at the PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas, the day after The Game Awards. The game will take place in 1999, 7 years after the events of San Andreas. CJ will return as the main character, again being voiced by Young Maylay."

The news also claimed that several well-known celebrities will provide the voice of several characters in the game, including popular rappers like Ice Cube, Kendrick Lamar, and Schoolboy Q. Actors Kevin Hart, Mike Epps, and Larenz Tate are also purported to lend their voices to the game.

The news spread like wildfire online, and fans shared the information in their social media accounts. But the truth is, there is no such thing as "GTA 5: San Andreas 2" coming out in PS4 and Xbox One in 2015, or any other time for that matter.

Rockstar Games normally announces their new games in their official website, but the news about the alleged sequel of their popular release is not mentioned in any of their recent posts.

However, the game developer is busy promoting the release of its latest "GTA Online" DLC pack, the GTA Online Heists. This expansion pack offers a multiplayer mode where users can come up with big bank heists, which is what fans have been asking Rockstar Games for for a long time already.

The trailer for the new "GTA 5" expansion pack is already out.
