Nick (David Giuntoli) will have his face-off with the woman wearing his former girlfriend's face when the NBC series "Grimm" returns for the second half of season 5.

During the midseason finale, the Wesen uprising aka Black Claw laid out an ambush for Nick and his team. For a while, it looked like things were not looking good for them. At the middle of the fierce battle, a mysterious woman suddenly appeared and used some magic that sent their assailants flying. It was Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) sporting a weird new hairdo and she was working with Hadrian's Wall. The upcoming episode will see that squad still unable to process that their former member did not die back when Trubel (guest star Jacqueline Toboni) shot her in the chest with arrows.

Juliette died in Nick's arms back in season 4. Executive producer David Greenwalt has previously revealed that she would be returning to the series, but not as old Juliette. Tulloch's character has become Eve, the super Hexenbiest weapon to fight Black Claw. Eve reportedly knows who Nick is, but she has turned in a completely different person, she could not relate to the past events anymore. For her, Juliette is dead.

As for Nick, his reaction to seeing her return spoke volumes on what he was feeling. In episode 7, he will have all his questions answered, when he gets his chance to talk to Eve for the first time. Greenwalt told TV Line that it would be a pivotal scene, especially with the Wesen rebellion continuing to simmer to what he tagged "a battle for the world between Hadrian's Wall and Black Claw."

"Finally, Nick and Eve will have a big, bold scene. We learn about what happened to her, who she is now and what she is now," the executive producer said.

Eve's return will also have a huge impact on his budding romance with Adalind (Claire Coffee). A promo photo shows the both of them leaning in for a kiss. Co-creator James Kouf teased that as much as shippers of Nick and Juliette hope that Adalind was just helping him with his contacts, there was so much more in it than that.

"Grimm" season 5 will return on Friday, Jan. 29 at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
