After an unexpected cameo by Patrick Dempsey's character Dr. Derek Shepherd in episode 8 of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13, fans are now excitedly awaiting the possibility of the return of another original character, Dr. Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh).
It can be recalled that in the last episode, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) clearly saw her dead husband in a vision after a long day at work. Meredith asked questions about what keeps her motivated, perhaps indicating that she has not quite moved on from mourning Derek's passing.
"How do you keep going? How do you not just sit down and give up? Sometimes it's easy. Sometimes you play games in your head. You make up someone. Someone good. Whatever you need to keep you going," said Meredith.
While Derek was able to make an appearance in the show despite his character being killed off, fans are clamoring to see Meredith's "person" Cristina in a future episode. The character left the show back in season 10 when her character left for Zurich to replace Burke as the director of Cardiothoracic Surgery in his own facility, iTechPost reported.
In an interview back then, Oh did not close the doors on being part of the series finale when the time comes. Still, while there has been no confirmation for the possibility of Yang's return, Alex (Justin Chambers) is most likely going to jail for beating up Deluca (Giacomo Gianniotti).
It is also expected that Jo (Camilla Luddington) will finally come clean to Alex about being married, which set off the chain of events that has put his career in jeopardy in the first place.

"Grey's Anatomy" airs its midseason finale — entitled "You Haven't Done Nothin" — on Thursday, Nov. 17, at 8:00 p.m. EST on ABC.
