Meredith (Pompeo) looks like a survivor of a fatal accident in an unofficial video teaser for the upcoming episode of the long-running ABC series "Grey's Anatomy."
A clip recently uploaded in Twitter by user @dempeoholic shows what is assumed to be a scene from the episode titled "The Sound of Silence," which is scheduled to air in February. The medical drama is currently on winter break, but fans are already feeling the excitement for the upcoming installment directed by Denzel Washington. A photo uploaded by a fan drew much anticipation, as it shows cast member Caterina Scorsone (Amelia Shepherd) and Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) with the veteran actor.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Pompeo expressed her enthusiasm over the episode, saying she was impressed by the actor's charisma. The actress also said Washington's presence is enough to lighten up an entire room.
"I'm super excited for the fans to see [episode 1209, directed by Denzel Washington]. It's for sure the [best] thing I've ever done on the show. We've never had anybody of his caliber come and direct our show ever. His charisma, he changes the energy in the room completely. Everybody is just at the top of their game," she said.
ABC has not yet released a synopsis for "The Sound of Silence," but the leaked video speaks volumes of what is to come. In the video, Meredith is immobile with her left leg and arm in a cast. Dr. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) is maneuvering the wheelchair for her. From how it appears, Meredith has an accident that rendered her incapacitated for a while. It looks like Amelia will have to wait for her sister to recuperate before they can have another shouting match.
The last episode ended with Meredith telling Amelia to get out of the apartment they were sharing together after the latter overstepped her bounds. Amelia was pissed at her sister for not letting her in on Owen's secret for hating Riggs (Martin Henderson). Without thinking, she blurted out that Derek (Patrick Dempsey) would be disappointed if he could see how Meredith was living her life. Meredith told Amelia she should pack her bags and leave their house, much to the younger woman's surprise.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 will return on Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
