Another controversial storyline will be tackled in the upcoming episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 11.
Shonda Rhimes' medical drama continuously raises the eyebrows of viewers worldwide because of interesting and highly talked about plots in the show. This time, the series will be tackling the sensitive issue of fetal surgery.
The alleged controversial episode will revolve around doctors Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) and April Kepner's (Sarah Drew) child, who was diagnosed with an extremely rare disorder known as osteogenesis imprefecta or OI, which could result to extremely fragile bones should the baby manage to be survive in his mother's womb long enough to be delivered.
Is the couple willing to take the risk of undergoing fetal surgery for their unborn child, even if their resident fetal surgeons Nicole Herman (Geena Davis) and Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) could not really help save the baby's life?
This story could be a meaty subject for discussion between the pro-life and pro-abortion groups.
However, the season 11 return of "Grey's Anatomy" is not all about problems and risks. When the series returns, doctors Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) might finally start thinking about taking their relationship to the next level.
Luddington discussed Jo and Alex's relationship in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, saying, "They're so messy together, but every single couple on the show is and they have their issues ... They work well together and I think they're both really growing in their relationship. Even Jo being open and having this conversation where she's like, 'You know what? I am jealous and this sucks; I don't feel like I'm No. 1.' That's tough for her to have. You can see Alex really growing up in their relationship, too, and stepping forward and being a supportive boyfriend. I think they do have what it takes."
Chambers also believes that his character is also interested in Jo. He also teased that the two doctors will be seen more often in scenes outside the hospital.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 11 returns on Jan. 29, 2015.
