'Grand Theft Auto Online' news: Double RP and rewards in Friends in High Places Week

 Rockstar Games Newswire

Fresh from the Be My Valentine event, players can once again earn double the reputations points and in-game rewards as Rockstar Games unlocks the Friends in High Places event in "GTA Online."

Going live until Feb. 25, the Friends in High Places event gives players high chances of earning double the in-game cash rewards plus twice the reputations points earned in a number of missions. Aside from the usual high-paying jobs currently available in "GTA Online," the event also unlocks daily scheduled event missions from specified contacts.

For the last three days – Feb. 22 to 24 – players can get these contact missions from Martin, Lester, and Gerald, and each mission done on the specified dates will also net players contact-specific rewards like 50 percent discount on properties and up to 20 percent off on in-game items.

Those who haven't been able to do the contact missions for each specific character from previous days will also have the chance to earn once again. The announcement added that on Feb. 25, instead of contact-specific day missions, the event will unlock all contact missions from all characters, and each completed accomplishment will earn double RP and cash rewards.

Meanwhile, aside from the day-to-day contact missions, the Friends in High Places event also unlocks discounts for in-game items like ammunition and weapons, and the discounts will last the whole week. Players who will purchase selected items can get as much as 50 percent off on body armors and rifle ammunitions, while almost 25 percent of the price is currently slashed for other in-game items like sticky bombs and grenades.

The Friends in High Places event is a timed exclusive event, following the Be My Valentines expansion last week. Meanwhile, as for game DLC expansions, Rockstar Games remains silent on when fans can expect a new pack after "Executives and Other Criminals." Some fans are speculating that the next expansion for "GTA Online" will involve the much-rumored opening of casinos and in-game gambling for the title.
