It is time to meet the face behind all the madness in Indian Hill when the hit FOX series "Gotham" returns for the second half of season 2.

Creator and showrunner Bruno Heller told TV Line back in November that Dr. Hugo Strange, who will be played by "Law & Order: SVU" alum BD Wong, would be seen "very soon" in the series. The brilliant professor and psychiatrist serves as the main man in Gotham City's infamous Arkham Asylum, where he was hired to give all the help to the criminally insane. Strange, however, has a secret identity. He is the person behind the inhuman experiments being done to the inmates. He wants to create superhumans out of the prisoners in India Hill, the underground Wayne Enterprises black-ops program.

Strange is particularly interested in the criminals who have demonstrated extraordinary abilities. Firefly (Michelle Veintimilla) was one of his first experiments, where she was shortly taken after being nabbed by the Gotham City Police Department (GCPD). When Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) summarily executed Theo Galavan (James Frain) in the midseason finale, viewers saw that his body was transported to a laboratory. Joker (Cameron Monaghan) and Barbara (Erin Richards) are also destined to be guinea pigs of Strange, just like their old buddy. Strange, however, has never showed his face yet. When season 2 returns, it is expected that his trademark coke-bottle glasses will be seen.

Meanwhile, the International Business Times posits that Court of Owls, an ultra-secret society, will soon appear in Gotham City. The website believes that Bruce Wayne's (David Mazouz) reference to owls being his favorite animal to Silver St. Cloud (Natalie Alyn Lind) is a clear clue about the notorious crime group. Court of Owls will reportedly take over the Sacred Order of Saint Dumas in causing chaos in the city.

"Gotham" season 2 will return on Feb. 29, 2016 at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
