Gospel singer Travis Greene, best known for songs such as "Intentional" and "Thank You For Being God," cannot contain his excitement now that he is going to take his ministry forward by starting his own church.

Greene made the announcement on his Instagram account (@travisgreenetv) by sharing a photo of his family with the caption, "It's About to Go Dooooown!!! So excited about the Official Launch of Forward City Church @4wardcity on 8/21/16. Mark your calendars & get to Columbia, SC!!!! More info coming soon."

The singer has received the support of evangelical leaders like Pastor William McDowell from the Deeper Fellowship Church in Orlando, Florida. On his Instagram account (@pastorwilliammcdowell), Greene's friend and spiritual mentor reposted his photo and writes, "My great friend @travisgreenetv will have his official launch August 21st. So excited for he and his family and the @4wardcity family!"

As for Pastor Deitrick Haddon, another gospel singer who heads Hill City Church in Los Angeles, California, he also shared his well wishes on his Instagram account (@dhaddy). "Congrats to my brother @travisgreenetv for obeying the call and launching the new ministry. If you're looking for a church with a fresh word in Columbia Sc go to #forwardcitychurch," he writes,

Greene earlier told Jet Magazine why establishing Forward City Church is very important for him. "My wife and I met in a college ministry at Georgia Southern University, and our lives were radically changed forever. So because of that, and knowing those vulnerable years of college, it really inspired us to want to make a difference on college campuses here in Columbia, South Carolina and abroad," he said.

The singer is thankful God surrounded them with like-minded individuals who are willing to sacrifice time and effort just to build Forward City. "It's a huge honour to lead them. We're really passionate about the college ministry at Forward City, too. It's probably one of our major outreach initiatives," he added.
